Bardic Knowledge

How do you guys (especially Bill) feel about the Pathfinder Beta Edition altered Bardic Knowledge class feature?

I truly like it much better than the relatively nebulous version in the standard v3.5 rules. The new version lets you use the Knowledge skills that already exist in the game that you are putting skill ranks into anyway. There are already good rules for the success of each individual Knowledge skill check and the new version of Bardic Knowledge lets you use that rules to determine exactly what information you know. I think this is better than the random Bardic Knowledge roll with non-specific results in the standard rules that does not take into account any particular fields of study you have focused on.

Here is the Pathfinder (Beta) version below...

A visit to the temple, Chapter 1

Well, this is interesting, Fidark thought as he strolled south down the "Street of a Million Gods." He came on the notion last night that it may be time to see what kind of representation Tomanak had in this down. Supposedly, everybody's gods were on this street, except for Lothain, the local favorite, but who knows.

It was difficult being here in the city, with all these people. He wondered how the city managed to find enough food to feed itself. It always amazed himself to find people who couldnt hunt, or couldn't plow. His best guess was that living in a city softened that part of your brain.

However, the clash of wooden staves brought a building to his attention. It was a small, three storied affair, with the bottom floor open to the air. Weapons and armor were being sold here. A plain, sword, with the hilt wrapped in rope, was pushed firmly into the side of the building, higher than someone even as tall as Fidark could reach. This looked promising.

Class Defense bonus

On page 109 of the Unearthed Arcana there is a variant called class defense bonus. Is anyone using it, and is there any thoughts about it being a good/bad idea?

Xankul's Story Chap 1

6th of Rain in the Year 721

I have finally reached the Gates to the Great City of Ptolus! Never have I seen so many people in one place !! So many different ways of speaking, dressing, and the weapons are fantastic !! The ideas they give me, I cannot wait to return to my Father's forge and try my hand at their design.
I have rented a room so I have someplace to rest as I search for " The Saviors of the Tree " that I was sent to find. I have exhausted many hours trying to find " The Saviors " with no luck. I must return to my room to get some much needed sleep. I will try once again on the morrow.
