Albicon update
Mon, 2008-10-06 21:39 — CraigwAlbacon regretfully announces that, due to health issues, Anne McCaffrey will not be able to attend the convention. I'm sure you'll join us in wishing her a speedy recovery.
But Albacon will continue. Todd McCaffrey will still be Guest of Honor, and we have full slate of programming and events. These include the Ice Cream Social, the Saturday Night Extravaganza, 1632.com, and a special presentation by some of the stars of Star Trek II: New Voyages. In addition, some of this year's guests are Eric Flint, Deborah Doyle and Jim Macdonald, Steve Miller and Sharon Lee, David Hartwell, Geoffrey Landis, Alexis Gilliland, and many others.
Though we, of course, would have preferred that Anne attend, we still expect this to be the best Albacon ever. Hope to see you there.

A new Cycle
We will beginning a new site upgrade cycle this month. So if you are a regular user things may be strange from time to time.

So we're on for GenCon next week. It's very exciting. with the wifey in pregnant mode, we have moved our hotel reservation to the Crowne plaza, which appears to be slightly closer to the convention center than the previous choice, cheaper, and we stay in an actual converted train car, which I think is cool. We are flying out and back, and have several 4th edition games scheduled. we should have lots of fun. Wifey wants to go to the zoo, which sounds like fun unless you have THE WORLDS LARGEST FRIGGING GAME CONVENTION to go to instead. Women.
