Ave Maria

In the article http://www.motherjones.com/news/feature/2007/03/hail_mary.html they discuss a college being created in florida for the true catholic believers. It is amazing how completely different the spokespeople's opinion differes from mine.

This was truly one of the most distrubing articles I have read.I am amazed at how extreme this college's views are. When I hear about the right mouthpiece du jour explaining about how awful college is (after all education exposes people to all kinds of ideas) it makes me mad, but this is silly.

I just hope they don't get any government money.

Well, Scooter has been given The Shaft(tm) by his friends and government, and for that matter, his own mouth. Think he'll be pardoned?

What's with all the dumbass "Christ"-ians?

On Saturday Feb. 10th, York Suburban High School’s drama club is going to be doing a play called “The Laramie Project”, which deals with the reaction to the tragic 1998 death of Matthew Shepherd, a gay college student who was tied to a fence and beaten to death by two men.

Fred Phelps, the leader of the Westboro Baptist Chuch in Kansas picketed Shepherd’s funeral, bearing signs with slogans like “AIDS Kills Fags Dead.” After his burial, the pastor proposed that the city erect a 6 foot monument with a picture of Shepherd bearing the words “MATTHEW SHEPARD Entered Hell on October 12 1998 in Defiance of God’s Warnings.” The church also runs the site www.GodHatesFags.com, which has a counter under their Memorial section that says “Matthew Shepherd has been in Hell for 3034 days.”

Plank-o-Rama

Have you ever thought about the actual "planks" that would make up your ideal political platform? I was thinking that a short list of plank ideas might be interesting to discuss. Some planks to discuss

Abortion/Reproductive Rights -

Environmental preservation/rejuvination-

Business -

Education -

And many others. What do you think? Do you have an opinion on any of these suckers? I bet you do. Why not share it? Maybe we can build our own political platform here on the elbows.

Make them go shuck corn, too
