I really like the idea of LED Christmas lights. They are energy efficient, bright, long lasting and for the most part won't break if you step on them. What I don't like about them are the flickers. I can see the 60 hz flicker of the light, because unlike regular lights, they are expressing photons directly instead of heating up. So, in a regular light bulb, the flicker is covered up by the heating element just cooling a little bit - and you can't really cool a whole lot in a 60th of a second. so the light remains constant, while an led, without the cooling cycle, flickers very, very fast. so far, I haven't had a chance to test my idea of putting a capacitor in series with the lights to smooth things out - maybe one small one per light-bulb? maybe I'll buy a light set this year and experi
